McKenzie

The McKenzie concept offers a specific selection of exercises for treating problems with the intervertebral disc. The idea and philosophy of the McKenzie concept of “mechanical diagnosis and therapy” is that of active self-treatment of patients. It emphasizes both intervention and prevention and enables the patient to gain self-control and responsibility for their complaints.

The patient is given a self-exercise program which he should carry out at home. This is the principle of the concept and is what makes it so successful.
